The Rockton Bookmobile visit (10:30-11:30am) today, Thursday, January 22 is cancelled. Service is expected to resume next week.
Effective Sunday, February 1, Sunday service hours at Central Library will be paused.
Sunday Hours will continue at Dundas, Red Hill, Terryberry, Turner Park, Valley Park and Waterdown Branches from 1-5pm.
Starting Monday, February 2, Central Library's daily hours will move back to a 9 am opening instead of 8 am, Monday through Saturday. Please make note of this new service change for your next visit. www.hpl.ca/hours
The digital microfilm machines at Central Library are not working. A single analog machine is available in the Local History and Archives Reading Room. This reader does not support printing. We apologize for the inconvenience and aim to have the digital devices repaired as soon as possible.

Daily print balances for black and white and colour printing change January 2, 2026. The new daily print balance is 40 cents. Members receive four free black and white copies or two free colour copies.

Bring back your borrowed library items within 28 days to avoid a replacement or lost fee. We'll remove the fee when you bring back your overdue items.
Waterdown and Millgrove Branches Closing November 5
November 2, 2015 – Hamilton Public Library’s Waterdown and Millgrove Branches will close at the end of business on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.
Customers are encouraged to pick up all holds and library materials before November 5 and to indicate where future holds should be sent. Materials that are not picked up will be available at the new Waterdown Branch location when it opens in the coming weeks.
The new 15,000-square-foot facility, located at 163 Dundas Street East, will be part of a larger community complex that will also house a Senior Centre, the City’s Municipal Service Centre, Flamborough Archives, and Flamborough Information & Community Services.
Library customers in Flamborough can continue to access library services and materials in the interim by visiting other branch locations in the area, including: Carlisle (1496 Centre Road, Carlisle), Dundas (18 Ogilvie Street, Dundas), Freelton (1803 Brock Road, Freelton) and Greensville (59 Kirby Avenue, Greensville).
To better serve the Millgrove community, a new Bookmobile stop at Millgrove Public School is scheduled to begin operating on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. starting November 10.
